The state-of-the-art center offers:

    • Occupational therapy
    • Speech therapy

Why This Pediatric Therapy Center Matters

For many families, accessing pediatric rehabilitation services can require multiple appointments at different locations each week. The new Tacoma therapy center consolidates several specialty services under one roof, creating a more convenient experience for patients and caregivers.

“This comprehensive outpatient therapy center is a critical need for so many of our patients,” said Jeff Poltawsky, president and market leader, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network. “Many of our patients rely on at least two forms of therapies, often requiring multiple weekly appointments. Our goal is to provide ease of access for all patient families, so their appointments can be consolidated under one roof and be as minimally disruptive to their lives as possible.”

From Groundbreaking to Opening in Less Than One Year

The project represents a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between The Rush Companies and MultiCare. The facility welcomed its first patients less than one year after groundbreaking, with construction completed ahead of schedule.

The project was a joint effort and used the combined expertise of Rush Capital, Rush Commercial, Rush Development and Rush Properties, with Ferguson Architecture serving as project architect.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Mary Bridge Children’s and MultiCare through the development of this important outpatient therapy center,” said Levi Nelson, Development Manager, Rush Development. “Their team was collaborative, mission-driven, and a pleasure to work alongside throughout the project. This facility plays a valuable role in expanding access to pediatric therapy services in Tacoma, and we’re excited to help bring these critical resources closer to the families who need them.”

Community Partnership Driving Better Healthcare Access

The facility was made possible through collaboration among several community partners. In addition to the partnership between The Rush Companies and MultiCare, the Mary Bridge Brigade contributed $4 million toward therapy equipment, furnishings, and interior completion.

This investment reflects a shared commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to specialized pediatric services throughout the South Sound.

As Tacoma continues to grow, projects like this help ensure families have access to essential healthcare services close to home, reinforcing the long-term value of strategic healthcare real estate development.
